Story to foster innovation in the thermal processing industry
The Plibrico Company, a leading supplier of monolithic refractories and installation services, is excited to announce and welcome Shawn Story as its new Engineering Manager. Well versed in refractories and thermal processing operations, Story will be responsible for fostering innovation by providing innovative, yet practical, engineering services that deliver novel refractory solutions and technologies. Plibrico’s customers and PliPartners will benefit through access to engineering information and tools they need to solve their most difficult refractory challenges. Story joins a growing team of experienced refractory professionals at Plibrico who are uniquely qualified to recommend, manufacture, and install the optimal refractories for each distinct thermal application. Based in Plibrico’s Northbrook, IL headquarters, Story will report to Roger Smith, Plibrico’s Director of Technical Services.
With an entrepreneurial spirit, Story brings to Plibrico customers a wealth of practical and professional experience. He believes in working closely with each customer or partner, large and small, to unite the right refractories and services around their specific challenges..
During Story’s 16 years in the refractory industry, he has held a variety of engineering and development positions all with increasing scope and responsibilities. His career includes positions in engineering, product development, and thermal application support for a wide range of industries including aluminum, steel, iron, and glass. Shawn Story holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.
