Product Information: Pligun® LWI®️ 28 is a very high temperature insulating castable. With a service limit of 2800°F and good strength, Pligun LWI 28 is suitable to use as either a backup insulating component in high temperature applications, or as a primary lining material in less severe applications. Its low iron content makes it ideal for use in reducing combustion applications. Product advantages include:
- 2800°F service limit
- Low iron content: <1%
- Medium density: ~85 pcf
- Good CCS and hot strength
- Moderately low thermal conductivity
- Good volume stability, positive linear change above 2500°F to its service limit
- Good casting consistency
