Best Applications: Plibrico SiC 80 is designed for applications where high thermal conductivity and/or slag resistance is required. For example, a thin wall covering on heat exchanger tubes in a slagging or corrosive environment. Other applications include:

Product Information: Plibrico®️ SiC 80 is a phosphate bond, silicon carbide plastic refractory. This product incorporates Plibrico’s proprietary monoaluminium phosphate, with a refractory grade silicon carbide in an alumina fortified phosphate bonding matrix. The result of this combination is a high silicon content phosphate bonded plastic refractory with low impurities – iron and alkalis. Plibrico SiC 80 also has good workability and stable storage characteristics. Other product attributes include:
- High silicon carbide content – 80% SiC
- Good hot strength
- Low shrinkage
- High thermal conductivity
- Very good slag resistance
- Good thermal shock resistance
- Plibrico SiC 80 is available in standard, stiff and soft consistencies to conform to installation and storage requirements.
