Product Information: Plibrico® 85-S Special is an 85% alumina, phosphate bond plastic refractory. With a service limit of 3300°F, this plastic employs a premium bauxite aggregate base in an alumina fortified phosphate bonding matrix. Utilizing Plibrico’s proprietary monoaluminium phosphate, Plibrico 85-S Special yields a higher mullite content 85% phosphate bonded plastic with improved hot strength and stable storage characteristics. Other attributes include:
- High service limit: 3300°F
- Good elevated temperature hot strength
- Good volume stability through its service temperature range
- Good thermal shock resistance
- Excellent abrasion resistance: 5cc loss per ASTM C 704
- Good slag resistance
- Non-wetting to aluminum
- Meets ASTM classification C673 85% Alumina
Plibrico 85-S Special is ordered in either Stiff (SF), Standard (SD), or Export (EX) workability to conform to installation and storage requirements.
